Under The Heading of: Grow the Fuck Up…
Seems the following photo qualifies as racism now.
You know, when I saw this picture I was not thinking King Kong. In fact I doubt anyone but an overly PC asshat would think racism without the seed being planted in their minds. But low and behold it is in fact another example of the White Establishment’s perpetuating of vile and disgusting racism.
Wait for it….
SHUT THE FUCK UP!
They’re two of the most beautiful people on earth. But some say the Vogue photograph, shot by Annie Leibovitz, isn’t attractive at all because of the racial stereotype it purportedly evokes—black beast clutching a white damsel in distress, reflected in French sculptor Emmanuel Fremiet’s 1887 statue “Gorilla Carrying Off a Woman,” and later, in the many incarnations of “King Kong.”
My first thoughts on seeing this image went something like this:
“Gee, Giselle really needs to think about the position of her body here… she looks like she has one leg.”
Second thought, “This is a cool picture. Editorial instead of glamor, way to go Vogue!” I suppose being an insensitive non black person it never occurred to me to think Gorilla.
“Here you have an image of a black male athlete in an exceptionally aggressive stance, wide footed, bending over, clutching her with his arm,” said Jason Rosenfeld, professor of art history at Marymount Manhattan College.
Well I would argue Lebron is in an exceptionally aggressive business, but what the fuck do I know? Jason Rosenfeld needs to get a fucking life. Let go of the liberal guilt, Jason. Jeri Wright isn’t going to come to your house. He prefers to get all pissed and crazy when he has a crowd of ten thousand enraptured by his delicious hate filled blathering.
“It’s one thing to have an athlete in that kind of pose and with that kind of expression on a court after he or she has done something miraculous. It’s another thing to couple it with someone who is of an entirely different ilk and gender. That turns it into a racially charged image.”
Well I think it is pretty fucking miraculous he is on the cover of Vogue. There have only ever been three men in the history of the magazine. George Clooney for reasons that escape me and Richard Gere because he is teh ghey and if you recall correctly the speaker for all humanity. It is only turned into a racially charged image when people have nothing better to do than examine everything for the sinister plot behind the visual.
Oh oh oh! I have it. Annie Leibovitz is a Jew! Blame the Joos! This is obviously some deep and far reaching plot by members of the Bilderberg Group and the Bush Family to keep all black people oppressed. It makes total sense now. Obviously this is also part of the Clinton machine’s scheme to further project negative stereotypes which will embed and fester in the minds of all Obama supporters and keep this NeoPanther™ messiah from getting the nomination.
That’s right, I said NeoPanther. He is the new face of the Black Panther ideal. Jesse, Al, and Louis are soooo last millennium. The new face of hysterical perpetuation of racial strife is Barry O. Get with the program!
“When you’re for the first time putting a black man on the cover, and this is the way you’re depicting him, it means that you’re going nowhere,” Rosenfeld said. “Pose LeBron in the pose of a Greek God and pose her as a Venus—then you’re upping the conversation.”
A Greek God? Where they dark skinned enough? Because if not one could say the act of portraying him as a Greek God could be racist wishing that he were a white male. Wait a Minute. Pose Giselle as Venus? Oh hell no! Then that is just going to piss of the black women because we have this big strong successful black man with a white girl and we all know the black man has been brain washed into wanting a white woman. Is there no end to the depths Whitey will go to destroy black culture?
Finally a voice of reason!
Robin Givhan, the Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion editor of the Washington Post and a former associate editor at Vogue, is black. And she doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.“It’s so exhausting that every time people see an image of a black person they work themselves into a tizzy that somehow it doesn’t adhere to the way in which they think a black person should be presented,” she said.
Well Robin is obviously a sell out like those worthless race traitors, Condi Rice and Colin Powell. Robin, sweetie, if you had any real understanding of your own race you would know that there are only a few acceptible ways to portray black celebrities.

Also, if you really want to make sure you are showcasing said celebrities in the best possible light, you can always go the Kanye way.

Robin does go on to make a solid point I can understand and appreciate:
But Givhan said the “entire issue” is the fact that Vogue depicts so little diversity on its covers. In November, Portfolio magazine pointed out that when Jennifer Hudson was on the magazine’s cover in March 2007, she was only the third black celebrity to appear there.“The whole LeBron thing really comes down to … maybe Vogue should have more people of color on their cover, male and female,” she said. “Maybe then they won’t be so scrutinized when they do put a person of color on their cover.”
This of course is sound logic and reasoning and there is absolutely NO place for that in the American Dialog these days.
I would like to state for the record I am far from a racist. I happen to be an equal opportunity despiser. If you are a worthless lying piece of shit, guess what? I am going to call you one. I happen to think LeBron is an amazing athlete and seems to stay out of trouble and God knows there are not enough NBA stars who can serve as role models.
Gone are the David Robinson days, though his former teammates try to take up the slack and all manage to keep solid images. Of course all you ever hear about the Spurs is how boring they are. Yes, lets import a few rapists and wife beaters to SA. Damn, what were we thinking. Funny, no one seems to find it racist when the Spurs, who are pretty much all black men, are called boring because they are not a bunch of showboating party boys constantly getting busted. Again, wtf do I know?
Anyway, my point. It takes a bent mind to find evil intent behind things as benign as the cover of a fashion magazine. Get use to it, folks. This is going to be the tone of the next 9 months. Racism is everywhere. Welcome to the Culture of Victimization. I am trying to find a way to write a serious entry about this racism hysteria but I am drawing a blank. My disgust and anger at this nonsense is too close to the surface.

I’m always amazed that the people who automatically make the connection between black people and some offensive stereotype are the ones that accuse others of being racist. I was reading other blogs on this topic and one person actually said, “King Kong was my first thought.” Really? Your first thought? I wouldn’t have thought it at all, but it was your first thought?
It’s just like the people who thought the orcs in Lord of the Rings represented black people. Personally, I thought they represented orcs. But I guess people like me are the racists for not noticing such connections.
