Very true…I doubt getting 95% of the black vote instead of the usual 90% that Dems get made a huge difference.

I also agree that Romney would have had a much better chance than McCain did. He could have hammered Obama on the economic crisis harder than McCain could since Romney hadn’t been in Washington for umpteen years.

Your point is valid. I voted AGAINST in most races, not FOR. In no race was that more true than that for President. I find it hard to believe the glaring deficiencies in BO’s history and blatant toxic affiliations could be so easily overlooked for the gauzy, insubstantial promise of “hope and change”. No one even seems to know or care what that even means. Is it just the ability to tell your child (or your ego) that you contributed to history by electing a black man to the presidency, even one that is not necessarily qualified? Do. Not. Get. It.

The nation has spoken and apparently we are now the minority.

On the bright side, looks like Al Franken is a loser.

There is much at play here, namely our candidate. He was not the choice of most conservatives I know and I am still not sure how he got where he did. That said he ran closer than I thought he would in the end. When your party’s candidate doesn’t represent what your party believes then it doesn’t seem likely to being a winning combo. I respect John McCain, believe him to have a true heart with regard to this nation. I found myself thinking this morning what we would have accomplished with a Romney or a Thompson or even a Huckabee. So much of this race was lost because of McCain’s unwillingness to fight until the very end.

I am going to write about this later, but simply put, Barak Obama was elected by white america, the black vote while higher was not that big a factor. He was elected by an America who has bought into the BDS and that was never going to be overcome.

Are we really the ones that are wrong? I can’t understand how I/we can feel so strongly that this is the wrong step for our nation, while others are so mesmerized. At this point I wish I was able to be so spellbound by the – president elect – that I could just believe in the hope and change. I just feel like I’m either the smartest person in the room or the dumbest and I’m just delusional. I am truly at loose ends today. I just can’t seem to get past it yet.

This is a test not just of him but of America as a whole. A test of truly how tolerant America can be. I can honestly say that this presidential election cycle has got me addicted to politics and I am looking forward to following what happens as he takes office.
