Change is nothing more than a slogan that millions of Americans mindlessly cling to…..
When I ask people why they support Obama, the answer always focused on “hope” and “change”. No specific policy issues…
If anything, his supporters knew little more about his policy positions than that they would not be Bush’s policies.
The economy stinks. People have “Iraq Fatigue”. So, Obama ran against Bush – a lame duck president with very low approval ratings.
At the end of the day, McCain couldn’t put enough distance between himself and Bush.
Obama is simply choosing a bunch of retreads from the Clinton administration. Why shouldn’t he? He has been a lap dog for the Democratic leadership. He voted with them for 97% of the time, so why wouldn’t he listen to their recommendations for people to fill his administration.
The only other people he would know would be his Chicago buddies in the Daley political machine. Unfortunately, many of them are tied up in scandals and investigations.
Perhaps, Hillary should have asked him in the debates who he would appoint… then America would have seen that there was really little that separated the two establishment Democrats.
