Heh…they keep trying to talk my husband into being the sharepoint developer at his job, because he’s nice and usuallly doesn’t say no to anything and is really good at making the impossible happen. I think if they ever manage to push him into it, he’ll quit.

Sharepoint is one of those necessary evils these days. When it work right, it is amazing. When it works wrong, it is total shit. There is no forgiving nature in this software, if it isn’t set up right you might as well set the bitch on fire cuz it aint evah gonna work.

If I thought you’d ever leave Texas, I’d tell you to get a job at Denver Public Schools, because they desperately need someone with your attitude toward Sharepoint. The ‘necessary’ word is generally left out of the first sentence in your comment.

I would move in a heartbeat. Find my husband a six figure project manager/developer position and we are gone. I can build Jenniferland in CO and lob tomatoes at the hippies

Don’t I know it, Alice. Husband got a job offer a few years ago in Golden – they couldn’t justify billable rate at salary comparable to Houston. Me crushed as lifelong dream gone. Still living in humid hell. Sob.
Jen, hope the new job is better.

Every day conversation in my office:
BOSS: Can you integrate this (new service) into our MOSS site?
ME: Um…I think we can.
BOSS: How long will it take?
ME: Um…can I have a year?
I swear, after almost a year of running a Web site in SP 2007 I still have no idea what the heck I am doing…

Neither does anyone else so it doesn’t matter. Try deploying it with an extranet function. Mwahahahahahah in a .mil environment. hahahahaha sorry, I am still laughing at that.

actually you’d be surprised at the number of military sites using sharepoint. extranet? ever heard of alternate access mappings and isa surely it’s microsoft and if you know anything about security you’d be a fool to implement either one of those but that is merely my opinion…
