lol. Quite a wrathful post. Although I imagine I should be expecting this. I was brought up a Catholic and am having trouble finding reasons to continue on as a Catholic. It just seems like religion has become so damn testy lately and get offended over the smallest things. The same goes for all religions, not just Catholics. And don’t get me wrong, I think religion teaches great morale basics; you know, the love one another and turn the other cheek stuff. But it’s those that choose to take it to that next level and make us all look bad that really bother me. My 2 cents.

Hey Joe, just because not everyone thinks the same way I do does not mean I should have to apologize for the way I think. And if my personal convictions tell me that I should be nice to you (not you personally – you generally) then how is that a bad thing? That’s like getting offended when you sneeze and someone says gesundheit. Let’s get upset because not everyone speaks German. Please.

As your (probably) only atheist reader, I’ll take the “con” side as Devil’s Advocate (in this case, literally I suppose).

1) I’ll trade the shit I get for being atheist for the shit you get for being Christian.

2) I don’t know what the best comparison is to how it gets annoying. Imagine being surrounded by wiccans who said “I’ll enchant my crystals for you tonight.” Or if you get mustard on your shirt at lunch, and people point out your stain all day. Or liberals who say “That George Bush is a moron” all the time (hey, that probably really happens). Or how you feel when you hear Scientologists. Nothing harmful, just gets old after a while. I know most people mean no harm. Sometimes you just catch someone at the wrong time, you know?

I think a handy rule (whether it be religion, politics, sports, or nearly anything else) is to remember not everyone thinks the same way you do.
