I Am Having A Phase…

An NCIS phase.  I have been recording them on USA network in the afternoons because my husband has never watched any of them and has started watching with me this season and is amused and enjoys them.  I realized I had never seen the first season and most of the second season.  So I have been obsessively watching them online.  It has been therapeutic because the Mark Harmon hotness factor is off the chart.

Kids are out of school this week and my husband has been a good dad and taken a week of leave to stay home with them.  Today he took them to a movie.  Actually I spoke to him this morning and the plan was, “We are going to Arby’s!  It opened today!”  The next thing I know I get a text… “We are at the movies.  Madagascar 2 after much debate.”  Seems Daughter No. 4 (5 year old) wanted to see HSM 3.  Daughter No. 2 (10) was ok with that but Daughter No. 3 was disgusted at the mere thought.  “I do not want to watch that crap!”  Well, after much discussion about how inappropriate it is to say “crap” when you are 8 they convinced their baby sister to see Madagascar 2.  She is still talking about the butt shaking in the film.  What is it about kids and shaking asses that they find so amusing?  Better than farting for personal amusement, though I have one that does that as well.  Dear God, imagine that one if she had been a boy…

Anyway, work is ok.  Finally trying to get things settled in and about a gazillion different training cbts completed.  It is a different environment than my previous .mil gig.  Both are military medical IT, but this one is not at the hospital.  I am use to a coffee shop, shopette, and cafeteria dining.  There is no Seattle’s Best or little shopping store but there is a Chow Hall that is really cheap and that is spiffy.

I took the bird out of the freezer yesterday and it is still as hard as a brick.  I think I am going to have to take it out of the fridge and thaw it on the counter tomorrow so I can brine i wednesday overnight.  Right now I could kill someone with it if i could actually lift it off the counter and throw it farther than two feet.  It is a hefty bird.

I hate Monday TV… nothing on.  Thank God I have NCIS recorded ;)

I am pondering a photo journal of my cooking adventure Thursday but that might be a bit ambitious.  Still, you all want to see my bird and the rest of the yummies… admit it.
