Life’s Little Daily Pleasures
You know what I am talking about, right? The little things that make your day endurable. The stupid, idiotic, and sometimes psychotic things you do in order to not punch people in the throat at work and in everyday life. Pressure valves if you will. I know folks who do things ranging from taking their break and walking around the building complex and others who make little laser gun sounds at people in the hall when they make eye contact or say hello. “P-yoo P-yoo P-yoo” at folks walking down the hall gives the added bonus of them perhaps thinking you are funny while secretly pondering if you will return from lunch with an assault rifle.
Me, I have my little victories too.
- I figure out ways to view rss feeds of blogs that I cannot directly access.
- I obsessive over Librarything.com
- I read eBooks on my iPod Touch
- I say totally random things about sex and or dairy products at odd intervals.
- I walk around taking chocolate out of the various community candy boxes.
- I have mastered the art of insulting people with a smile and a sing song voice to where they think i am joking but really I am visualizing slamming their heads into the conference table. That one works like a charm.
How do you get through your day?

I like to think of how some people would look if I smacked them in the head with a big shovel.
A favorite tv quote of mine is from Berta, the housekeeper, on Two and a Half Men:
“I find that a couple of valiums in my morning coffee keeps me from snapping necks.”

Mine is to secretly annoy our head of sales. Every other day or so I sneak into his office before he comes in and drop a small screw or nut covered in a drop of oil either on his desk or on the floor by his chair. I’ve been doing this for 3 weeks now.
He’s had the facilities guy in his office 6 times now looking for whatever is falling apart. He’s changed chairs twice. He checks his desk constantly.
I’m such a bastard.

Now That’s Funny !
I’ll have to tell a few people about that.
They may want to try it at work.
