Sex Positivity and Other Stupid Shit…

This made me giggle:  Why Sex Positivity is Bad for Feminism

The theme of the 2009 VIF (ed. Visions in Feminism) conference is “Pushing Boundaries: Queering Feminism & Queer-ying our Communities”; its goal is to “explore ways of queering ourselves and our communities; that is, unfixing definitions of feminism while pushing our boundaries to re-examine our relationships to feminist praxis.”

While we’re “unfixing definitions of feminism,” may I humbly submit that we unfix this “sex-positivity” shit from the entire praxis? Because if I have to endure another essay on the mysteries of the female orgasm in the name of feminism, I may never have an orgasm again.

I am not even sure what Queering feminism means but that last bit is hilarious.  I think when a feminists writes, “enough already” they sort of need to get the fuck over it.  Just for a bit of bonus info the Keynote speaker is former porn star cum PhD,  Annie “My Vagina Is Wise”  Sprinkle.

Feminism is a constant source of amusement to me.  Last night I watched Entourage with my husband and Ari about summed up my opinion of feminism:  This was at Bab’s luncheon for #30 most powerful woman in Hollywood or some shit like that.  He is pissed she will not let him hire his buddy at their firm etc..  So he crashes her “woman’s lunch” and runs up to toast her…  He congratulates her and says:

She went out and found herself a man to partner up with and look what she made of herself! Cheers to you, Babs, and to all of you out there who have saddled up to powerful men to stand in our way!

He goes on a bit, hilarious shit.  She agrees to give him his way after he threatens civil war in the firm but demands an apology to the gathered women…

Babs: I want an apology. Now.
Ari: Sorry ladies, I’d like to congratulate each and every one of you, but Barbara’s cock is all I can handle right now!

I pretty much hate Entourage because Vince and his idiots are like poster children for what is wrong with the world, but Ari, he is greatness.
