TDFU: St. Teddy of The Naughty Bits

By jen

Sorry to all you folks out there with their “respect the dead” shit, but I didn’t respect the bastard when he was alive.    Ted Kennedy is dead and he was a douche.  I am sorry for his family because I am sure they loved him and mourn his passing.  Being dead doesn’t change the simple fact he was a douche.   I am sick and fucking tired of reading about the Lion of the Left.  Fuck you.  I will not join the masses of the Left, Right, and Middle who avoid saying anything bad about the dead.  The fucking left spits all over the grave of Reagan anytime they can and he actually was a great man so why the hell should anyone pussyfoot around Ted Kennedy’s grave?

Never once in his entire fucking miserable life did he ever fucking pay the consequences of his actions.  Oh no, not Teddy.  Poor Teddy with the two dead brothers, better men than him, both and they were not saints.   Poor Teddy always in the shadow of his dead brothers.  Fuck you.  He was a grown ass man when he started making shitty fucking choices probably long before July of  ‘69 when he drove his car and Mary Jo Kopechne off a bridge and he left her in the water.  Didn’t bother to report it until the next day.  Of course he denies being under the influence when it happened but who knows?  Tell me how anyone respects a man who goes on nationwide TV to address the issue and says:

“I regard as indefensible the fact that I did not report the accident to the police immediately”.

Really? Not, I find it indefensible that I left a young woman in a car underwater while I staggered back home and went into a huddle with my soulless politically obsessed family to figure out a way to best “control” the fall out around the issue.  He probably just spent the night pushing fluids and pissing out the alcohol in his blood.   Well I am sure the Kopechne family felt justice had been served with his two month suspended sentence.  Add this to a horrible divorce, alcohol abuse, the rape trial at the end of the last century and his proclivity for walking around in his drawers while getting shitfaced with the coeds at “The Compound” and that is just the shit we know about the man’s personal life.  The big stuff.

Then there was the Bork hearings where he totally went off the deep end and so dawned the new era of the politics of personal destruction.  Fact are “fluid” thingies.  Context is overrated.  *hiccup… “Waitress!”  Grabs her ass and squeezes, “Get me another Glenn Levitt, honey and make it quick!”  His fucking bellyaching and blustering is legendary and for the life of me I cannot think of a single positive thing he had any part in.  Nothing at all but I am not a bleeding heart liberal.  But even looking at it objectively, trying to find something I could say, “yeah, that was a good thing Teddy did there!”  I cannot think of a thing and I am 40 years old.  I am sure he did something, but the fact is his scandals and shortcoming were so amazingly public that I cannot recall anything else.

Some folks were offended he was sent off in grand Catholic fashion, not me.  Hell I stopped being offended every time some abortion loving Catholic Lefty goes and takes communion years ago.   The day long funeral mass for Teddy boy was quite a spectical Yo Yo Ma and Placido Domingo etc all to send the Great Man Of The People off.  There has been much commentary on the TV and blogs about the Pope not releasing a statement about Teddy’s death.  My question?  Why would he?  He was a senator not a head of state.  I guess he was suppose to do it because he sent his thoughts and prayers to the family of Eunice who died earlier this summer.  Teddy was no Eunice, folks.  Apples and Oranges.  I am not one of those folks that will have a conniption because the man was given a Catholic burial.  If it gave his family some peace, fine.  I am a Catholic and I have been to more than one funeral where the person being laid to rest was not exactly a good Catholic boy or girl.   The rituals are for the family, the soul is already departed.  I could sit here and say shit like, “He went to Hell” but I will not.  He was a very ill man facing his death.  Is it possible to atone for a lifetime of sin and vice?  Yes, I believe it is and I believe in a benevolent God.  I will say this, I am sure there was some serious negotiations and sub committee meetings at the pearly gates though.

I am sick of the whining from the peanut gallery as well.  Poor Teddy was just misunderstood and a good man at heart.  He fought the good fight!  Fuck you.  Little nuggets of wisdom like this from that absurd twit Meagan McCain via twitter after being disgusted by the political discourse of what his legacy would be.:

“I just don’t know what kind of life of anger you lead if you can’t put politics aside for a moment to respect a man’s passing…”

For the record I lead a full and glorious life of anger, just fyi.  As to her comment, so full of righteous indignation and empathy for the Left.  She is full of something anyway… Let me get this straight, are we NOT respecting that he is dead?  That he died?  You are asking us to respect what, sweetie?  The man is dead, I respect that fact because I saw the TV pictures of the funeral.  No doubt it is true.   I have already said I did not wish death on anyone and I certainly didn’t giggle with glee when he passed, I doubt anyone did who isn’t fucked up.  But you expect people to put aside the very thing that has defined not only his life but the lives of his entire family.  So you get pissy pants when there is some contention as to whether he will be remembered as a fighter for the “common man”  (yeah I cannot type that without snorting) or for his total lack of self control, personal responsibility, and his gross hypocrisy?  Hate to break it to you, honey… his legacy will always be that of the Lesser Brother of Greatness or the Lesser Son of Camelot and that is all on him.

I’ll try this again….last time the server killed my comment. Refusing to speak ill of the dead when it comes to Ted Kennedy is like lauding Hitler for how he helped pull the German economy out of the crapper. Kennedy was sleazy from dawn to dusk. He is the Dorian Gray of the 20th century. Death does not make evil people suddenly virtuous via the proxy of sycophantic eulogists and MSM barking moonbats.
(the phrase ‘barking moonbats’ brought to you courtesy of Perry de Havilland at Samizdata.net – it was too good not to purloin)

Similar to when the despicable older brother died in Dallas, I went down on my knees and thanked God for this small favor.  In reality I was rolling on the floor laughing out loud and then I began dreading the upcoming endless MSM caterwauling over old drunks’ passing.  Let’s just hope that the health care debacle gets buried alongside the toothless lion and that they both head straight to hell!
Cheers  – I always enjoy reading your rants!

Two lines made me cackle with utter glee: – “Ted Kennedy is dead and he was a douche.” – “For the record I lead a full and glorious life of anger, just fyi.”
Just pure awesomeness.

So you aren’t a Kennedy fan? Hmmmm…strange. I would have figured you were.

I’m 61 and I can’t remember anything decent this sob ever did. You forgot to mention secret collusion with the Soviet Union to try to undermine President Reagan. I just couldn’t watch any of the funeral proceedings – which took restraint given that FNC had the oddly beautiful Molly Line reporting most of it

This was very well-written, and I don’t approve of most posts slamming even the dead Ted Kennedy.  You explained in detail why you despise him instead of just spitting on his grave.

I suppose this is a trackback.  And look, I didn’t file it in a category called ‘Rants by Jen’, or stick your picture on it, or put your title in 48-point font when the usual blog titles are in 14-point, or swipe half your post.  Funny how that works.

Your link thingy is broken!  http://doubleplusundead.mee.nu/rip_ted_kennedy

Well, I will say this for Old Teddy’s passing. He ended the 24 hour Michael Jackson news-athon.

It’s funny, They bring up Camelot and then get P.O.d when someone mentions the lady in the lake…

Flashman,

Not only did he collude with the KGB in 1984, he did the same thing in 1980 when the Peanut Farmer was in offfice. Facts like that give the lie to “liberal lion” He was out for Teddy and no one else.

For me since 1969 and to now – Ted Kennedy has always been and always will be about killing Ms Kopechne. The fact that he was able to even stay in public office after that event shows how long corruption, buying one’s way out of trouble/into office has existed and how people on the Left can looks aside at anyone’s behavior simply to further a cause.
Much like Nina Burleigh’s – “I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal (Re: Bill Clinton). How feminist of her to lionize a serial sex offender.
However these same people still call Rush Limbaugh a drug addict and of course called President Bush an alcoholic – And exactly how did they act (and post) when President Reagan or President Ford died? I am sure it was with the utmost respect and fond remembrance only of the good they did!
-St. Teddy of the Naughty Bits – you do have a way with words.

Jen,
