I remember ages ago (1980 to be exact) having to go to Frankfurt (FRG) airport to pick up someone (probably my Mother, so that would be 1981) – Anyway, two small children and I make it to the waiting chairs outside of customs, just sitting and waiting when two politzi with uzis walk into the area. Well being the quazi smart wife of a US Army soldier, I look around, decide that the safest place is under the bench we are sitting on – and then I realize abso-f**kin-lutely no one else is even batting an eye lash. So instead of my gut American reaction – it’s a terrorist act – I realize that these people don’t do the reactive bs America does and after their first incident – put the damn armed police into the airport to shoot to kill anyone who intends harm to others.
Those in charge (cough, cough) of American security indeed should take a lesson from those countries who have been dealing with this successfully – as the EU is letting all kinds of people into all their countries without even a second thought or check – and use those tactics.
The current ‘recommendations’ and response to this terrorist attempt reminds me of John Bolton’s response to Obama’s Iran response (election, secret nuke site, all, whatever) – ‘Diplomacy is a technique, not a policy’
I’d like to see more policies and something that actually works – not more techniques that will get us all killed.
BTW, wonder how far into the gutter air travel to Detroit is falling?!? Bet we won’t see that in the msm!

You nailed it. I have gotten to the point that I avoid air travel if at all possible. After 20 years of having status with at least one airline I’m now accruing almost no miles.

An open ended gov’t. contract with Israel for airport security….Outstanding Idea !

Someone else wrote an article calling Israel’s airport security Pro-active, while America’s is Re-active.
We don’t do anything until AFTER something bad happens and then we can’t even get that right.
