Not only do i have a new coffee pot, I have the coffee pot I have been wanting for a year, though not in the right color. Let me set the stage for you…
7:30am Jennifer gets out of bed at the sound of rugrats bickering and making way too much noise. She stumbles across the townhouse, throws open the door where all the rugrats are gathered making their horrible noises and she screams like an insane woman, threatening them all with bodily harm if they do not shush.(more…)7:35am Jennifer goes to make a pot of coffee in an attempt to believe once again that all is right with the world. Jennifer loves coffee. Jennifer NEEDS coffee.
7:40am After cleaning the pot she pours in 8 cups of water as she does every morning. She looks at the gauge and it says 4 cups. Being that she hasn’t had her first cup of coffee, Jennifer thinks, “Ok, I must have only measured 4 cups” and puts 4 more cups in the pot.
7:40:35am Jennifer hears water dripping and notices her feet are getting wet.
7:41am Jennifer begins cursing like a sailor who just had his shore leave revoked.7:45am After cleaning up the water she tries again and with God’s Most Perfect Coffee: Caribou French Roast. Jennifer is feeling optimistic that this water issue is just a freak event, The Coffee Gods would not smite her so.
7:55am Coffee is done and Jennifer walks over with her giant mug full of creamer and splenda, slightly shaking from intense yearning. She pours the coffee and blinks her eyes several times at the tea like color of her coffee.
7:55:30am Jennifer begins cursing like a sailor who just had his shore leave revoked AGAIN.

Excellent article at Villainous Company:
Recently in response to some disturbing videos of his pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama urged America to have a long overdue conversation about race. An honest conversation.I often wonder if we will ever get to that point, or indeed if such a thing as an honest conversation on race is even possible in this country? I don’t see how it can be, when the truth of the matter is that we are still so conscious of skin color that we refuse to conduct the conversation in a race-neutral fashion?
Consequently, blacks are allowed to say certain things:
Obama acknowledges, with no small irony, that he benefits from his race.If he were white, he once bluntly noted, he would simply be one of nine freshmen senators, almost certainly without a multimillion-dollar book deal and a shred of celebrity. Or would he have been elected at all?
Yet if whites say exactly the same thing, they are accused of racism:
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” Ferraro told a local California newspaper last week.”And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept,” Ferraro said.
The only difference between those two statements, really, is the skin color of the speaker. So why did Ms. Ferraro’s comment create such a furor? And more importantly, why on earth has Mr. Obama mischaracterized her comment, when he freely admitted his race has conferred some political advantages?
My very favorite part of the clip is when Joy Behar says that white people “haven’t been oppressed for the past millions of years”.Um Joy? Number one, there haven’t been humans on Earth for that long, and number two, blacks haven’t been oppressed any more than anyone else (who isn’t black themselves) throughout time. Again, I urge a thorough reading of some books on ancient history; it would help the debate a lot. You could read about Asian, Indian, and African history for starters.
Oh, and since we’re having the long-awaited “open and honest discussion” about race, I may as well pile on. Check this out. People are pissed because the following Vogue cover makes Lebron James look like King Kong and therefore is raaaacist…
He doesn’t look like King Kong to me. He looks like a bad muhfugger who could literally leap over my head and totally kick my ass in a game of H.O.R.S.E.
I must tell you that Israel was the closest ally to the White Supremacists of South Africa. In fact, South Africa allowed Israel to test its nuclear weapons in the ocean off South Africa. The Israelis were given a blank check: they could test whenever they desired and did not even have to ask permission. Both worked on an ethnic bomb that kills Blacks and Arabs.

The bosses who walk around stroking the egos of their employees and constantly telling them how great a job their doing, when in fact they are just doing what they are paid to do.
Teachers and schools rewarding students with parties because everyone did their homework for an entire month!
Adjusting perfect attendance policies to “missing X number of days or less per year” is not perfect attendance.
Politicians bragging about all the bills they pushed to the floor and legislation they sponsored. Making a big deal over the hours they worked to get a particular issue addressed. Is that not their job? (more…)

Talking to a guy today on break. Typical white person you know the type…
He had watched the news this weekend with his 20 year old Barry O lovin’ daughter and asked her the pertinent questions as to why she was going to vote for him etc. Being a 20 year old liberal sort of negates the ability to take anything she says seriously, but humor me here. He asked her, what happens if the super delegates give this to Hillary?
She says without missing a beat, “I will vote for McCain.”
She is young and naive, right? That is why she said it, surely. Not so much….
This is right in line with the inability of the average Obama supporter to give you a serious reason for their allegiance. Hell, I have talked to people a great deal in the last weeks, asking about taxes, health care, even the war. These folks do not all share my politics or views, but they are certainly not like Barry O. When after getting all that pesky issue nonsense out of the way I ask them, “Then how is it you are wearing an Obama ‘08 button?”
There is usually this confused silence followed by general disgust that I do not “Get it.” No, frankly I do not. This young woman is probably not the only voter with the same plan. How do you jump from Obama to Mccain? (more…)

While hitting my Google Feeds this morning I hit BMEWS to see what Drew was talking about this morning and found this entry. I have been pondering how to address this whole issue without sounding like a hysteric with too much coffee in her system so I decided after reading his entry that I need to just do it. So here it goes…
Barry O’s speech accomplished a few things this week and his comments since have brought to light a few more attitudes he seems to harbor. Whether he was addressing race to cover his ass about Jerry “Goddamn America” Wright, which is what any thinking person in this country believes, or if he was just moving up the date on a speech he had planned to deliver about race in this country, one thing is certain… he succeeded in stirring up a racial shit storm.
Yes, his approval ratings have suffered as a result of the eloquent but shameless rationalizing of his relationship with Rev. Wright. That said, Obama did manage to take the attention away from his startling ineptitude when it comes to the war in Iraq and national security in general. Is it a good trade off? Time will tell, but for the moment the country is talking about race.

It is glorious in San Antonio today. It has been so for a few days. Spring is here or Summer Light as we like to call it. The sun is shining and it is shaping up to be another mild and sunny day. I have been putting off taking care of the last bit of settling in after my move and today I have to do it. So i am going to assemble the last of the girl’s new beds so they are no longer sleeping on a mattress on the floor like some sort of savages.
It is Easter Egg night. Woo woo. Gotta dye them babies so they can hide and hunt them tomorrow after church. The plan is to make egg salad as soon as they leave to visit their Dad in the afternoon. I loves me some egg salad.
I decided a few years ago Easter had to be an easier holiday for me. I do not cook a huge meal and usually I do not have extended family and friends here on this holiday. I got a boneless ham to bake and some fingerling potatoes to bake with all sorts of good buttery seasoning. I haven’t decided on the token veggie though I do have the stuff to make the cucumber and sour cream salad of Kat’s that I love so much.
The trick to Easter is to hide all the candy the kids get at the first opportunity. Hide it from them, but more importantly hide it from yours truly. There is a perfect confection in this world and it is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg. Oh how I love the creamy salty goodness that melts in my mouth. Every year I say I am not going to buy them and every year I manage to buy them. They are the heroin of candy. The only thing in the same ballpark are those Ferrer Roche thingies, not the gold foil ones, but the silver ones. They are some sort of toasted coconut decadence and you can only buy them in a box with the others. They are little nuggets of heaven.
Well the purpose of this entry was not so much to keep you all on the edge of your seats as to the details of my day as much as to give me yet another opportunity to stall about said tasks. I cannot stall any longer. I shall return. If I am not back by this afternoon, call the president.

Canadian Sensitive Military Plans Found in Trash Can: My first thought was: Canada has a military? No fucking way?
Reports that these 26 Department of National Defense blueprints “show everything from the location of the security fence at CFB Trenton to the floor plan of the new home for the Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit,” an elite group that would respond to terrorist attacks or WMD-related incidents.“The plans also show the electrical grid scheme for the unit’s computers and details about sewer systems, areas for workshops, sea container loading docks, and offices for the unit’s various troops,” The Ottawa Citizen reports. “There is also a blueprint for the storage bay for the unit’s robots, which are designed to detect chemical and biological agents.”
Stockwell Day, the public safety minister, tells reporters that the discovery of these documents is a “huge concern to me.”

Seems the following photo qualifies as racism now.
You know, when I saw this picture I was not thinking King Kong. In fact I doubt anyone but an overly PC asshat would think racism without the seed being planted in their minds. But low and behold it is in fact another example of the White Establishment’s perpetuating of vile and disgusting racism.
Wait for it….

1.) Via : The Corner
Condi Rice, for example, has childhood memories of a segregated south and racial violence. But that’s what makes Obama’s association with Wright so significant. He’s not from Alabama. He’s a biracial middle-class Kenyan-Kansan Hawaiian-born Indonesian-raised Columbia and Harvard graduate who chose to immerse himself in the most corrosive and paranoid end of a racial-grievance ghetto mentality that is nothing to do with him, his family or his upbringing. He doesn’t have the same excuse as a Jackson, Sharpton or Farrakhan.
I am with Steyn on this one when he asks why the Obamas would choose to expose their children to this sort of anti-American crap. If the goal of Mr. Obama is to unite this country and change the “tone” of our discourse, why immerse your children in such divisive and hateful environments? Because you are an American hating elitist liberal, that’s why.

Seriously, Jeri is damn near the same color as me! In my life I have found the black folks I work with hyper aware of the color differences within their own community. Comments like, “She is pretty, but did you see how black her man is?” or “He is fine, but he is so black.” At least they seem to have gotten over that issue. Beige is the new black? (more…)

Oh Fuck! I demand immediate action too! My suggestion? A big giant fuck you to the UN and the ACLU.
UN Denounces US Record on Racial and Ethnic Discrimination!
GENEVA — A United Nations committee today issued a strongly worded critique of the United States’ record on racial discrimination and urged the government to make sweeping reforms to policies affecting racial and ethnic minorities, women, and immigrants in this country.“The message from the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is clear when it comes to the U.S.’ record on human rights and racial equality — the government can’t just talk the talk, it must also walk the walk,” said Jamil Dakwar, Advocacy Director of the ACLU Human Rights Program. “To claim the high moral ground and assert leadership on the issue of human rights, the U.S government must address the systemic discrimination and injustice that exists in its own backyard.”
Systemic discrimination and injustice? WTF? The only folks truly discriminated against in this country these days are white males. Poor S.O.B.s have to actually work for shit and get to see their tax dollars hard at work allowing lazy assholes to do nothing at all. Ugh, you will have to bear with me here, I am hormonal.
